Tiger Woods Ends Longstanding Partnership with Nike

After 27 years of collaboration, Tiger Woods has officially terminated his association with Nike.

The renowned golfer shared the news through a statement on X and Instagram. "More than 27 years ago, I had the privilege of initiating a collaboration with one of the most iconic brands globally," he expressed. "The years that followed were brimming with countless remarkable moments and memories. If I were to recount them all, the list would be endless.

"The dedication and foresight of Phil Knight brought about the union between Nike and Nike Golf, and I extend my personal gratitude to him, as well as the remarkable athletes and Nike staff I had the honor of working alongside throughout this journey." 

Woods hinted at forthcoming developments in the coming days. In the late 1990s, Woods ascended to become the most prominent figure in the sport's history, securing major tournament victories. By the 2000s, Woods held dominion over the golf world, donning the iconic red Nike polo every Sunday and achieving victories in spectacular fashion.

With 15 major championships to his name, Woods is merely three shy of Jack Nicklaus' record. Additionally, he shares the record for the most victories in PGA Tour events, boasting 82 wins. Since his severe car accident in Los Angeles, Woods has made limited appearances in tournaments. His last major triumph was at the Masters in 2019. While the details of his upcoming tournament participation remain uncertain, Woods did take part in the PNC Championship and the Hero World Challenge late last year, raising optimism for a potential return, possibly to Augusta, in the spring.
